I have been beating the crap out of that castle inside and out. I've talked to everyone but I cant find that elusive shield. I'm missing something?

Thank you. Finally found it. I hit and touched that purple candle so many times I knew it had to marked something. I thought I must have already found whatever it was. I even looked for switches on all those walls and never found it. Well done.
