Many thanks to Cat; odds and ends

First, many thanks to Cat both for making these terrific expansions and for her extensive help on these forums. They’ve given me hours of fun over the years.

Second, with her help, I finished the main quest, but have a few side quests I can’t get:


  1. Gem Zorkin: I can’t find it in the ruins.
  2. Steal back a hammer: I’ve looked for the Ogre at night in both map sites labeled Celestial Dew, but can’t find him or her.
  3. Share the Treasure: I’m guessing this is in the Gloom Caves? I can’t reach the fifth hole.
  4. Preacher Ames: Have been to Rogue Island and am guyessing he’s at sea, but am not sure how to reach him.


I’m probably being too much of a completist here. I’d appreciate any help.

    The Gem Zorkin is on a crack in the wall in the same area you find the Blue Hibonite. Right wall.

    The Ogre that drops the hammer is there. Step on a patch of grass behind Petro Pete's house. At night.

    For the treasure, the holes are your problem because it's in a fountain at the end there. If it's the last two holes you need to close, one is closed by one of the colored switches in room with colored switches. The other is closed tapping a blue column by the hole.

    Preacher Ames is on his boat. From Rogues' Reef you go through door in north to Pirates' Stronghold. You get to his boat by going down staircase in far north of stronghold and then boarding his boat.

    Thanks very much! Got three of them—it turns out I wasn’t hitting a switch in the treasure. I can’t find the staircase down in the stronghold and feel like it’s another switch I’m missing. I’m fine with letting this go. I look forward to the next and I gather final one.

    See if this helps you. Use the switches to remove the wall with white square in picture and proceed north.

    Then you need the Pirate Key to open the gate. It's on the last candle on the right wall just before the gate.

    If not, come back.

    Got it! As usual, I missed a couple of switches in the area with the discolored wall. I got one, but not the other two. Things fell into place after that. Thanks very much again for the extended help!
