Sorry but really dumb question. How do you kill the Ents

Early in the game some seem to die before after telling me I would pay for this. The rest don’t seem to die no matter what weapon I use.

Appreciate the help.

You need to use a hot spell: Burning Hand, Lightning Storm, Magic Missile..
