Forgotto grotto

I read the entries to get to the grotto. I found the skulls, found the hidden switch behind the plant, hit it, and it said something had changed, but i went back to the skull pile and there was no door. What was supposed to happen next? Where is the forgotto grotto entrance?

    The door is there. You must have gone back to the wrong skull pile. There are three there. You need to be sort of in the middle.

    But in order to use the door you need:

    "You need to have the seven magical feathers of the Pterosapian bird-wizards in your inventory to enter. See Old Shaman's assistant, Snet Bigsnapper so he can check to make sure you have them all. Then talk to Old Shaman. "
