I just bought a new iPhone and I would like to know if there is a way to transfer my saved games from my old ITouch without jailbreaking them.

with the latest version of The Quest and iOS 4.0 you can apparently transfer single save files to your hdd and then transfer them to another device. in the app section of itunes when you scroll down you will find a list of apps that are able to share their data with your computer. currently doing that with my iphone and itouch... lets see if it actually works.
confirmed! quite nifty new feature...

Yes, it's magical but when updating to os4 on ipod (don't know about iphone--I have a humble ipod) keep in mind that you have to sweat a little and store your current apps in a new library before you upgrade or they are all wiped out. There is a procedure to do this. It was actually a breeze but it sounds hairy if you're not used to doing such things.

Can someone explain this in a bit more detail?
I started over on the iPad. I had just started HOL II on the iPhone. I've only managed to get partway through the expansion so far. It would be nice to get my saved game from the iPhone transferred to the iPad.
I have already updated my phone, but I'm sure old files are in Time Machine. I have no fear of file transfers or command lines--I'm just not sure what to do. I'm a tech writer, though, so if someone can give me the basic info, I'm happy to polish up the procedure to share with others
I do admit that the second time through has been a lot of fun. Since I know so much more, it's been a lot easier and faster. I've made some different choices and am enjoying playing as a Derth. I'm not looking forward to the part when magic becomes relatively ineffective.
And, if it's possible for you, the iPad is wonderful for playing TQ.
