Redshift is considering running a contest for best new Quest Expansion by new Quest expansion makers. (Zarista will not participate but Argimon if he wishes may participate as he hasn't released a full expansion.)

The winning expansion -- if the quality is high enough -- will be polished by Sylon and published by Redshift for iphone. If the quality is not high enough, Redshift would be willing to try to work with the expansion maker to improve the quality--but there is no guarantee that - if the end quality after such hints and tips is not high enough for iphone -- that the expansion would be iphonized.

If the expansion is released for iphone it would be released as a FREE expansion.

Anyone desiring to enter should post here. The contest will run for about three weeks from the date it starts.

The expansion should be a reasonable size, ENTRY MUST BE FROM MITHRIA. The expansion should be fully tested by the maker before it's sent to Redshift. You may have to sign an agreement that the content is free of material that is copyrighted by another, including images. You would have to send Redshift with the expansion all the artwork it includes because it has to be polished for iphone.

Sylon and Elendil will be the judges. More information will be forthcoming soon. They will judge it on criteria they use for releasing any expansion to iphone: it has to be of good quality, a reasonable length and of interest, with balanced gameplay and should be an expansion the public will enjoy.

To emphasize, if released, it would be free. The creator gets glory. : )

I'm interested... But when would the expansions need to be sent to redshift?
It'll take me another 1-2 months to finish mine, and I've been working on it for awhile now!

I'll ask Sylon and Elendil but I think the contest will be no longer than a month and the expansion would have to be sent to Redshift within a reasonable time frame after that. Perhaps you could finish it or you could do a smaller expansion.

Okay... I'll start working full time

The contest will start on Sunday 2/21 and run for one month--so creator has one month to make the expansion. Redshift has two weeks to judge it.

As far as size, Sylon suggests not too big and not too small--but fun. That gives you room.

Entry has to be from Mithria. Game balance is a key feature in the judging as well as originality of story and gameplay.

Remember this will be offered as a free iphone/ipod expansion if the quality is high enough. Sylon will help polish the final product.
