Note from Elendil if you're experiencing game slowdown--

I think having a lot of expansions might play a role. The game autosaves in many situations and might have to save a lot of places (in the different expansions the player visited) and the items and monsters there.

Anyone experiencing this slowdown should try turning off the autosave. If responsiveness improves, they can decide to keep it turned off and save more frequently manually. Also the game will still autosave when exiting (if it can, of course, there are situations when it can't).
